Alcohol may have been a factor in a fatal car crash early this morning in Mercer County, Pennsylvania State Police said.

Amanda D. Jones, of Mercer, was speeding on Main Street in Sandy Lake shortly after 2:35 a.m. when the two-door coupe she was driving went off the road, state police in the Mercer barracks said in a press release.

The car went up an embankment and hit a tree before continuing over a sidewalk and striking a stone wall, state police said.

Ms. Jones was thrown from the car and was found on the front lawn of Jud's Beauty Shop, 3331 North Main St.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.
