The Indiana County coroner's office has released the identity of a man who drowned this morning after his fishing boat drifted from a dock.

Benjamin E. Hill, 55, of Penn Run was found approximately 50 feet from the dock where he was fishing with a family member, according to deputy coroner Jerry Overman. Mr. Overman said Mr. Hill saw the boat drifting away from the dock with his uncle inside shortly after he launched it from the dock. Mr. Hill went into the water to recover the boat and "disappeared," according to his uncle.

Blairsville water rescue divers, as well as multiple fire departments and first response teams, arrived at the scene before 9 a.m. and found Mr. Hill's body shortly after 10:30 a.m.

An autopsy is scheduled tomorrow at Johnstown's Memorial Medical Center. The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission and Yellow Creek State Park rangers are investigating the incident.
