Sharon man pleads guilty in shooting death of 17-year-old

A Sharon man pleaded guilty today to involuntary manslaughter in the January shooting death of a 17-year-old.

Jontae Maurice Barnes, 20, also pleaded guilty to possession of a firearm without a license, Mercer County district attorney Robert Kochems said. A third-degree murder charge was withdrawn, he said.

Mr. Barnes is scheduled to be sentenced Sept. 4.

Le Angelo Ford, 17, died Jan. 20 after being shot inside a house in the 100 block of Strawbridge Avenue in Sharon.
