The 11th annual Father's Day "Man Up for Prostate Cancer," a 5k/10k run/walk set for today, is expected to draw more than 2000 participants, according to organizers.
Festivities began at 6:30 a.m. on the North Side with the 10k following at 8 a.m.
Health screenings will be provided this year by the University of Pittsburgh medical students: tests for blood pressure, blood glucose levels, blood oxygen levels and counseling on nutrition and exercise.
The happenings are focused outside Gate A at Heinz Field.
The run/walk began at Art Rooney Avenue adjacent to Jerome Bettis Grille 36.
