A 19-year-old woman was killed in a Fayette County crash early Sunday morning, Pennsylvania State Police said.

Catherine A. Healy, 19, of the Bear Rocks area of Bullskin, suffered major head injuries and was taken to Laurel Highland Hospital, and later was flown to UPMC Presbyterian, where she was pronounced dead, state police in the Uniontown barracks said in a press release.

Ms. Healy was the passenger in a pickup truck going south on Ridge Boulevard in Dunbar about 4 a.m. Sunday.

The driver, 18-year-old Ethan Kenney, lost control, went off the road and hit a guard rail, state police said. The truck then hit a tree, turned 180 degrees and stopped in the right lane of traffic on Ridge Boulevard.

State police said Mr. Kenney, who suffered minor injuries, left the scene after EMS arrived and before police got there. He was found a short time later, suspected to be intoxicated, state police said.

The road was closed for about four hours.

State police are investigating. Mr. Kenney was taken for further testing.
