A Lansing, Mich., man was killed in a vehicle crash in Mercer County early this morning, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

Michael Karl Holder, 55, was driving east on I-80 in Wolf Creek about 3:36 a.m. when his Mercury Villager crashed into a Freightliner tractor-trailer, state police said in a press release.

Wilfredo Suarez, 53, of Clifton, N.J., was slowly driving the Freightliner, which was pulling a trailer with three flat tires, near mile marker 24.5.

The rubber from one of the tires disabled the back trailer lights, making it hard to see for traffic coming from behind, state police said.

After running into the trailer's bumper, Mr. Holder's car stopped about 150 yards away from the point of impact.

Mr. Holder was pronounced dead at Grove City Hospital at 4:46 a.m.

Mr. Suarez had no injuries and refused medical treatment at the scene.
