The Allegheny County Emergency Services was inundated with reports of accidents as snow fell during rush hour this afternoon.
The National Weather Service in Moon Township said the region has received about an inch since 4 p.m.
An emergency dispatch supervisor said a car ran into a house near the intersection of Pyramid Avenue and Waidler Avenue in Brentwood around 6 p.m.
Shortly after another car overturned on nearby East Bellecrest Avenue.
In Mt. Lebanon a car ran into a house at 40 Shady Drive West around 5:30 p.m. In all three instances, occupants were able to pull themselves out of the vehicles without any serious injuries.
Bob Coblentz, a forecaster with the National Weather Service, said the snowfall is typical of this time of the year and unfortunately coincided with rush hour.
Mr. Coblentz said flurries will occur off and on tonight with the possibility of a dusting overnight that could accumulate to another inch by morning.
Crews were salting primary roads Monday evening and then moving on to secondary and tertiary roads as the weather allowed.mobilehome - breaking - region
