A mechanical problem halted a Port Authority Light Rail Transit train on the Red Line this morning, causing up to 30 minutes delays during the morning commute.

Port Authority spokesman Jim Ritchie wrote in an email that the T system is returning to normal.

The broken-down train near the Shiras stop was cleared about 8:10 a.m., but some Red Line trains behind it were delayed.
