Cranberry police are seeking help in finding a burglary suspect who has stolen mostly prescription medications and cash from homes during the past few months.
The suspect is described as a young white woman with a petite build who wears a sweatshirt with the hood pulled up around her head, police said. The six burglaries occurred late at night from Nov. 16 to Feb. 12 in the southwestern part of the township.
The residents were home when most of the burglaries took place, police said. Several residents spoke with or saw the suspect, who made excuses for being in their home or simply ran away, and in one instance, the suspect said she had a gun as she fled, Cranberry police Sgt. Chuck Mascellino said in a news release.
Police are encouraging residents to be aware of suspicious people in their neighborhoods and to report anything suspicious to 911. They also encourage residents to keep their doors and windows secured, even when they're at home.
