A top member of the Pagans outlaw biker gang from Ross, already serving a dozen years in federal prison for dealing cocaine in West Virginia, looks likely to receive an additional 33 months for violating probation from a previous conviction in Pittsburgh.
Richard Speciale, 53, known as "Big Rick," was sentenced last week to 12 years after pleading guilty in U.S. District Court in Clarksburg. The FBI said Speciale ran a drug enterprise from June 2007 to January 2010, when Pittsburgh police and agents from the state attorney general's office arrested him.
He had begun dealing cocaine shortly after his release from federal prison on a previous cocaine conviction in U.S. District Court in Pittsburgh. In 1998, he had been sentenced to 10 years after a drug investigation by the federal agents and police in Shaler.
His arrest in the West Virginia case meant he violated his probation in that case.
In court papers filed today, his lawyer asked that a federal judge impose the penalty without a hearing and said he and the U.S. attorney's office have agreed to a term of 33 months.
