Motorcyclist dead in collision with car

A 71-year-old motorcyclist died in Cranberry Friday afternoon after colliding with a car on Route 8 in Middlesex, Butler County.

The motorcyclist, John Caldwell of Beaver Falls, died at UPMC Cranberry from multiple blunt force trauma to the head and trunk, Middlesex police said. Mr. Calwell had not been wearing a helmet, police said.

Police said a car driven by Elizabeth Kinsman, 68, of Butler, struck Mr. Caldwell when turning into a convenience store parking lot.
