A Moon man was ordered to serve three to six years in prison this morning for killing another on Route 65 in Leetsdale last year.

Shontelle Harvey, 41, must also serve an additional 10-year period on probation.

He was found guilty of homicide by vehicle while driving under the influence following a non-jury trial before Common Pleas Judge Joseph K. Williams III in May.

According to the prosecution, Charles Britt, who was driving on Route 65 about 3 a.m. on Aug. 18, stopped his vehicle and stood partially in the right lane of traffic while arguing with a woman in his back seat.

His blood alcohol level was more than twice the legal limit of 0.08.

As Britt, 67, went to get back in his car, he was struck by a white Lincoln Navigator being driven by Harvey.

Harvey's blood-alcohol level was also more than twice the legal limit.

The driver of another vehicle traveling in the left lane at the time of the incident said at trial she was able to see Britt outside his car, and that Harvey, who had been behind her, sped up and attempted to pass her in the right lane.
