A portion of Route 228 in Cranberry will remain closed for the evening rush hour but township officials are expecting the road as well as ramps to and from Interstate 79 to reopen by the Friday morning commute.
The highway has been closed between Route 19 and Cranberry Woods Drive since strong storms toppled nine utility poles Tuesday evening.
Communication services that were affected in an area north of the roadway have been restored. Businesses along the highway are accessible from east of the closure.
