Three paving contracts adding up to approximately $590,700 were awarded during Hampton township’s regular meeting on Wednesday, May 28, to two companies: Shields Asphalt Paving Inc. and Youngblood Paving Inc.
According to President Victor Son, this is a $200,000 increase over the township’s normal road resurfacing budget since the recession began. “We had some funds left over from last year, so we’re doing more roads in an effort to catch up,” Mr. Son said.
Road work will begin in June.
