An electrical fire was not enough to put a damper on Mother's Day festivities at La Casa Narcisi Winery in West Deer.

The fire, which started in the kitchen, caused staff and guests to evacuate.

The house musician played on as patrons, wine glasses in hand, relocated to a courtyard and adjacent field while firefighters determined that the scene was safe.

The fire began around 4:50 p.m., and firefighters from West Deer, Richland Township and North Hampton responded.

"The alarm went off, and everybody was brought out," West Deer fire chief Mel Wick said.

"The fire didn't get high enough to trip the sprinkler system," said J.R. Schnur, the man who had installed the sprinkler system for La Casa Narcisi Winery.

No one was injured in the fire.
