O'Hara police are searching tonight for a man they believe tried to abduct a 12-year-old boy from outside his home this afternoon.

The boy had just been dropped off after school near his home on Kittanning Pike in O'Hara when a bald, black man with facial hair got out of a small, red, extended-cab pickup truck and told the boy to get into the truck, according to O'Hara police officials. The man got back into the truck and drove away, only to return and order the boy into the truck again, according to police.

The second time, the boy ran away behind his house, and the man got back into his truck and drove away, northbound on Kittanning Pike, police said. The suspect is about 6 feet 3 inches tall, in his 40s or 50s, wearing dirty, ripped jeans and a sleeveless white shirt, officials said.
