Emergency divers this afternoon located the body of a New Castle woman whose boat capsized Tuesday night while she was fishing with her husband, state police said.

Nancy List, 26, and Michael List, 29 had been in a small aluminum boat on a lake in the woods off Countyline Road in Scott Township when the boat overturned between 8 and 9 p.m., state police in New Castle said. After holding on to the boat and trying to swim with it to shore, Mr. List saw her go under, police said in a press release. Mr. List couldn't find her and went to a nearby home for help.

State police, fire companies and emergency divers searched until 12:30 this morning, when they called off the search due to poor visibility, and began again at 7 a.m. Divers found her at 2:25 p.m., state police said.

State police continue to investigate, but were unable to comment further tonight. The Lawrence County coroner wasn't immediately available for comment.
