Work on a $14 million project to replace twin bridges on Interstate 79 in Butler County has resumed, as has a single-lane traffic pattern in both directions, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced on Monday.

The bridges are near the Route 422 interchange (Exit 99). Southbound traffic eventually will be crossed over to share the northbound bridge that was built last year, and the span that carries southbound traffic will be demolished and replaced. Work and traffic restrictions will continue into the fall.
