A volunteer is dead after he collapsed and fell from some scaffolding while helping to stage a rehearsal for a musical at Pine-Richland High School.

The Allegheny County medical examiner’s office said Bradley Oberg, 64, of Cranberry, died Monday evening at UPMC Passavant. He was taken there after collapsing about 7 p.m. in the Pine-Richland High School auditorium.

Northern Regional police were investigating, but did not say if Mr. Oberg died from the fall or whether he fell because he was stricken by a medical condition.

A school district spokeswoman says the musical staff called 911 while others, including a school nurse, attended to Mr. Oberg.

School counselors and psychologists were available this morning for students. An autopsy was scheduled for today.
