An 11-year-old girl originally thought to be trapped by an early morning fire in a home in Lawrence County has been found safe.

KDKA-TV is reporting the fire started around 4:30 a.m. in the 1200 block of Kings Chapel Road in Neshannock, just north of New Castle. A woman and a 16-year-old boy with autism had escaped the flames, but firefighters had to rescue a 6-year-old girl was trapped in the home.

The 11-year-old girl was found safe before dawn. She had been with her father.

The cause of the fire was not immediately clear, and a Pennsylvania State Police fire marshal has been called in to investigate. The ruins were still smoldering more than two hours after the fire started.
