Hampton -- St. Paul's Preschool, 1965 Ferguson Road, will host Santa Express, a train-themed fundraiser at 10 a.m. or 12:30 p.m. Dec. 14. Families can enjoy hot cocoa and explore the school filled with an indoor train, a bounce house, games, crafts, miniature train display, magic, a silent auction and Santa himself. Tickets are $8 and may be purchased online at or at the school's office. Santa Express funds educational programs and scholarships for families in need of tuition assistance.

Shaler -- The Shaler North Hills Library, 1822 Mount Royal Blvd., will hold a comedy night fundraiser at 7:30 p.m. Dec 7. Comics Joanne Burroway, Frank Perman and the Rev. Ing Kalchthaler will perform. Due to adult-themed nature of material only those age 18 and older will be admitted. Tickets: $10. Information: 412-486-0211.


Evans City -- Experience an 18th century Christmas holiday with the extended family members of Providence Plantation, 300 Textor Hill Road. In addition to period music and merrymaking around the punch bowl, enjoy more than a "taste" of history with a full-course candlelight dinner. Price is $30 each, $15 for children younger than age 12. McCandless -- Music from the hills, a concert of Advent and Christmas organ music will be held at noon next Wednesday and Dec. 11 and 18 at Northmont United Presbyterian Church, 8169 Perry Highway. McCandless -- LaRoche College and Sisters of Divine Providence will Host the Festival of Lights from 3 to 9 Friday, Dec. 6 on their adjoining campuses on Babcock Boulevard. Admission is free, and the event is open to the public. The festival will include a craft show in the Zappala College Center. Evening events will include a tree lighting ceremony, a live nativity, ice carving, carriage rides and Christmas karaoke. Live performances will include the LaRoche College Dance team, Ladies of Note and Village Quartet of TriCounty Choir, Village Singers of TriCounty Choir Institute and the Providence Heights Alpha School students. Children can enjoy activities, games, crafts and a visit from Santa Claus in the Kerr Fitness & Sports Center. The festival will conclude with a fireworks display on the LaRoche campus. Zelienople -- The Business Association of the Zelienople-Harmony Area Chamber of Commerce will host the annual holiday parade at 11 a.m. Saturday. The lineup will begin at approximately 10 a.m. facing south on High Street. Registration for parade participants will be at the library.
