The Seneca Valley school board will interview candidates and name a new member at its reorganization meeting on Dec. 3.
School board members are looking to fill the seat left vacant by Kelly Kopera, who resigned last month because of health issues. She represented region 7, which includes Evans City and Seven Fields. There are two years left on Ms. Kopera’s term.
Robert Hill, school board president, said they received letters from two interested candidates. He said they will publicly interview both candidates during the meeting, which begins at 5:30 p.m.
Ms. Kopera’s replacement won’t be the only new face on the board. Two newly elected board members also will take their seats at the December organization meeting. Frederick Peterson Jr. and Timothy Hester will replace Jason Wehrle and Eric Gordon who did not seek reelection.
Jeanette Lahm, Eric DiTullio and James Welsh were all reelected to the board in the general election.
