A Pine man on the board of his family's oil and gas exploration firm was ordered to stand trial today on charges that he inappropriately touched two female relatives when they were under the age of 18.

David Kozel, 48, appeared before District Judge William Wagner for a preliminary hearing this morning, according to online court records. Mr. Kozel was semi-retired as vice president of Texas Keystone Inc. when Northern Regional police charged him with numerous crimes in August.

Police wrote in court documents that two relatives, who were 16 and 18 at the time, told them Mr. Kozel inappropriately touched them over several years when they visited his home.

Charges against Mr. Kozel include indecent assault and endangering the welfare of a child.

His attorney, who could not immediately be reached for comment, said previously "The charges are outrageous" and declined to go into further detail.
