The Seneca Valley School District will continue to contract with an Ellwood City company to sell advertising on its district website.
School board members approved a two-year contract with Thought Process Enterprises at tonight's meeting. The company was initially hired in 2012 when Seneca Valley became the first school in Western Pennsylvania to sell advertisements on its website in an effort to increase revenue.
The district and Thought Process Enterprises share the advertisement revenue 50-50 in the new contract, said Linda Andreassi, district communication director.
Ms. Andreassi said advertising on the website has been a success. She said there is a waiting list for businesses interested in advertising on it.
Advertising on the website and the district's annual calendar brought in about $35,000 last fiscal year.
Correction, posted Oct. 15, 2013: The length of the contract has been corrected.education - neigh_north
