CHURCH ACTIVITIES

Hampton -- St. Mary of the Assumption, 2510 Middle Road, will host the Rev. Scott Seethaler for their parish renewal Sunday through Wednesday. Father Scott will preach each evening at 7.

FUNDRAISERS

Bellevue -- Court Bellevue No. 655 Catholic Daughters of the Americas will hold a luncheon and card party Oct. 18 at Knights of Columbus hall, 450 Lincoln Ave. A flea market and bake sale will begin at 10 a.m., and lunch will be served at noon. Tickets: $8. Reservations: 412-931-4328.

Etna -- All Saints Church Christian Mothers & Guild will hold a tea party from 1 to 3 p.m. Oct. 12 at the church on Dewey Street. West View -- St. Sebastian Parish Knights of Columbus Council 14696 are holding an Oktoberfest from 6 to 11 p.m. Saturday at West View Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2754, 386 Perry Highway. Advance purchase tickets only are $25 a person and are available from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday at St. Sebastian Parish Rectory Office, 311 Siebert Road.

Areawide -- APPRISE, Pennsylvania's State Health Insurance Assistance Program, is offering private, one-on-one appointments to help clients understand Medicare and Medicaid benefits and make informed decisions about health care options. The appointments will be held at two free, open enrollment events: from 1 to 4:30 p.m. Oct. 15 in Orchard Hill Church, 2551 Brandt School Road, Franklin Park, and from 1 to 4:30 p.m. Nov. 19 in Suburban General Hospital, 100 S. Areawide -- Fox Chapel Area Branch of the American Association of University Women will present "Healthcare Advocacy: The Up-And-Coming Profession" at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Longwood at Oakmont. Kathleen H. Scheirman, a health care advocate for Lytle Personal Health Partners, will speak on patient advocacy. The program is free. Longwood at Oakmont is at 500 Coxcomb Hill Road.

Areawide -- The Women's Business Network, an organization that provides resources to advance the presence of aspiring and successful businesswomen, will hold the following chapter meetings:

McCandless -- The Literary Society at La Roche College will present G. Alan Yeasted, senior vice president and chief medical officer at St. Clair Hospital in Mt. Lebanon, for the presentation "The History of Pittsburgh Hospitals and Medical Schools" at 8 p.m. Oct. 11 in the Ryan Room of the Zappala College Center at La Roche's main campus on Babcock Blvd. The event is free and will include refreshments.
