Richland -- First Presbyterian Church of Bakerstown, Route 8 at Heckert Road, will hold weekly Saturday Night Worship services starting at 6 p.m. Saturday. The services are sponsored by 20 Somethings Young Adult Ministry. All ages are invited. Information 724-443-1555.

Cabot -- St. Joseph Catholic Church, 315 Stoney Hollow Road, will hold its annual fall festival from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. Dinners, entertainment, crafts and raffles will be available. Dinners: $10 for adults, $5 for children. Takeout available. Information: 724-352-2149.

Pine -- St. Alphonsus Parish will hold its annual Harvest Home Dinner and Festival from 1 to 6:30 p.m. Sunday at the church school grounds, 201 Church Road. The festival will include a country store, basket auctions, bonanza raffle, "Treasures in the Attic," games, children's activities and snack booths. Information: 724-935-1151.

Saxonburg -- St. Luke Lutheran Church will host a quilt show from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday as part of the annual Saxonburg Festival of the Arts. More than 35 quilts will be displayed at the two-day festival in Centennial Hall, behind the church at 310 W. State St. The festival will include concerts, crafts, children's activities, food and more.

Saxonburg -- Wine Time, a one-day wine festival, will be held from 1 to 6 p.m. Saturday at Penn's Colony, 365 Saxonburg Blvd. Only those 21 years old and over will be admitted to the festival. Tickets are $20 with wine tasting, or $10 without. For discounted tickets: Information: 724-352-9922.


North Park -- The annual Footsteps for Recovery 5K Run/Walk will be held at 9 a.m. Sept. 14 at Harmar Pavilion in North Park. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. The race is timed by Miles of Smiles and benefits the Pennsylvania Educational Network for Eating Disorders. The event will include prizes, music by a disc jockey, a ticket auction and food. Fee: $25 for adults, $20 for youth, $60 for a party of four. Registration: 412-913-1373 or


Richland -- The Northern Tier Regional Library, 4015 Dickey Road, will hold the following programs:

• Youngsters can get an up-close look at trucks, including a firetruck and dump truck, on Truck Day from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. Registration requested: 724-449-2665.

• Shape up with Hula Hooping is a six-week class offered at 6 p.m. Tuesdays, beginning Tuesday and continuing through Oct. 16. Fee: $30 for the series, or pay as you go at $7 per class. Information: 724-449-2665.

Sewickley -- The Friends of the Sewickley Public Library will hold a book sale from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Saturday, and 1 to 3:45 p.m. Sunday at Sewickley Public Library, 500 Thorn St. A bag sale will be held Sunday, when shoppers can fill a bag and buy it for $5.


Franklin Park -- A Second Saturday Divorce Workshop for Women will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sept. 14 at 2605 Nicholson Road. Areawide -- North Hills Community Outreach, an Area Agency on Aging Senior Companion Program Volunteer Station, is seeking senior companions to volunteer in northern Allegheny County. Senior companions will earn a tax-free hourly stipend, meal allowance and mileage reimbursement for related travel plus pre-service orientation, monthly training and supplemental accident and liability insurance while on duty.
