A fund has been established to help with medical expenses of a Shaler woman and son and to help with funeral costs for a teenage daughter, all of whom were shot during a father's rampage last week in their home.

Donations for Charlene and Jimmy Edwards will be accepted through the Edwards Family Fund at First Commonwealth Bank.

Contributions will go toward their medical expenses and Jimmy's education, said Tracy Mormur, Mrs. Edwards' oldest daughter. The fund also will help pay for the funeral of Laurin Edwards, a daughter who died in the shooting.

Allegheny County police said James Edwards, 52, went room to room in the family's Winterset Drive home about 3 a.m. Thursday, shooting his wife, 51; Jimmy, 21; and Laurin, 19, before he turned the gun on himself.

Mrs. Edwards and Jimmy are hospitalized in fair condition and have been moved from intensive care, Ms. Mormur said Monday night. They are expected to recover fully.

Laurin and her father were found dead inside the home.

Worrell Funeral Home in Sharpsburg is handling funeral arrangements.
