The Ross Township Commissioners voted Monday to participate in the Redevelopment Authority of Allegheny County's Vacant Property Recovery Program.

The program will allow neighbors of a vacant property to acquire the property for a fee.

Commissioners expressed concerns about any fees that may have to be paid by the township, such as legal fees or for legal advertisements in newspapers in an attempt to find the last resident of the property.

"I would hope the township would not have to assume any of those costs," Commissioner David Mikec said.
