One hurt and house destroyed in Clarion County blaze

A state police fire marshal is investigating a blaze that destroyed a home and resulted in injury to one of the firefighters.

State police at Clarion said the fire erupted shortly after 9 p.m. Friday at the home of Gregory L. Wolbert. The house was located on Madison Shop Road in Madison, just outside the town of Rimersburg.

One firefighter was hurt while fighting the fire and was treated at Clarion Hospital. No information could be obtained on his medical condition.

The wood-frame home is valued at $200,000.

Police said the fire was extinguished but reignited at about 5:20 a.m. on Saturday.

Dozens of firefighters from Rimersburg, East Brady and Sligo responded to the incident.
