The Pennsylvania Game Commission is investigating the death of a mature bald eagle that was found May 5 in Clay, Butler County.

The eagle was found in a stream, and an examination of the carcass showed it had been shot, the commission said.

Another bald eagle was discovered shot May 10 in Cambria County, and it later died from its injuries. More than $7,250 has been offered as reward for information leading to a conviction in the bird's death.

Tips leading to a conviction in the Butler County death may also be eligible for a reward, the commission said.
