The Sewickley Tree Commission is inviting the public to help plant trees Saturday during its 2013 spring tree planting.

Those who want to take part should meet at 8:30 a.m. at the public works site on Washington Street behind the municipal building.

The commission plans to plant more than 30 trees this year, with at least one tree planted on each of these streets: Academy, Beaver, Centennial, Chestnut, Grove, Harbaugh, Ohio River Boulevard, Pine, Thorn, Broad and Walnut.

The borough will maintain the trees, but residents are asked to help during warm weather by watering trees near their homes. Residents also are asked to contact the borough if a tree should need maintenance or trimming.
