Suspect sought in attempted carjacking in Ross

Ross police are investigating an attempted carjacking this evening in front of Burlington Coat Factory on McKnight Road.

According to police, a woman was putting her child in her car shortly before 7 p.m. in the 4800 block of McKnight when an unknown man grabbed her from behind and demanded the vehicle. The woman screamed and said her baby was inside, but the man refused to let go. He struck her in the face, but eventually fled the scene.

Police described the suspect as a black male in his mid-20s, approximately 6 feet tall and average build. He has a dark complexion and low-cropped hair. He was wearing a red hoodie with the words "ECKO RED" in large, dark letters, long jean shorts, white tennis shoes and short white socks.
