• Mandy's Pizza, 3906 Perrysville Ave., West View, now makes and sells what it describes as an allergen-free pizza.

While previously serving gluten-free pizza crust, Mandy's Pizza researched and tested cheese alternatives, said the company's president, Steven Negri.

"With the help of Amy Soergel of Soergel Orchards Gluten-Free store, we have found a solution," he said in a news release.

The product that Mandy's now offers is an alternative to dairy cheese that is free of soy, casein, lactose, gluten, egg, wheat, barley, whey, rice and nuts. For customers who are allergic to tomatoes, a garlic-infused olive oil base is used to enhance the taste of the allergen-free crust.

The shop makes these pizzas with tools and stones that are washed, sanitized and stored in a sealed container in an effort to prevent cross-contamination.
