A member of the Epiphany Episcopal Church in Pine, Mercer County, has been charged in the Sunday night fire that destroyed the adjacent parsonage.

State police in New Castle arrested Philip Joseph McCamey, 38, of 537 Marigold Lane in the Brady Hills Trailer Park, Slippery Rock, today and charged him with arson.

State Fire Marshal Trooper Brian G. Crouch said the fire at the church residence started just before 8 a.m. Sunday and caused about $100,000 in damage. There was no word on what led authorities to suspect Mr. McCamey.

Mr. McCamey was being held on $50,000 bond in Mercer County Prison pending a Dec. 16 hearing in Grove City.
