Churchill — Beulah Presbyterian Church, 2500 McCrady Road, in conjunction with the Pittsburgh Piano Teachers Association, will host the Great Performance Series Student Recital at 4 p.m. Saturday as part of its Music on the Hill series. Information: 412-242-4570.

Greensburg — River City Brass, in conjunction with the Westmoreland Cultural Trust, will perform “Some Like It Hot” at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Palace Theatre, 21 W. Otterman St. Tickets: $24-$31, discounts for students and seniors. Reservations: 1-800-292-7222.


Monessen — The Monessen/Rostraver Rotary and the Monessen Knights of Columbus will hold a spaghetti dinner from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at the K of C Senior Center, 1925 Grand Ave. The cost is $8, $5 for children. Information: 724-684-7394.


Irwin — Norwin Public Library, 100 Caruthers Lane, in conjunction with the Carnegie Science Center, will sponsor Gumshoe Science, during which participants will become crime scene investigators, at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. Monroeville — Monroeville Public Library, 4000 Gateway Campus Blvd., will sponsor a discussion “Thirteen Months in Vietnam: One Marine’s Perspective” from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday in its Gallery Space. Greensburg — The Westmoreland Cultural Trust will hold the following shows at the Palace Theatre, 21 W. Otterman St.

McKeesport — McKeesport Little Theater, 1614 Coursin St., will present “Amish Burlesque featuring Goody Plenty & the Amlets” at 8 p.m. Friday, Saturday, May 9, 10, 16 and 17 and 2 p.m. Sunday and May 11 and 18. Tickets: $18, $7 for children. Reservations: 412-673-1100.


Hempfield — Westmoreland County Historical Society will hold the following activities on Saturday, unless indicated, in celebration of the opening weekend of Historic Hanna’s Town, 809 Forbes Road. Information: 724-532-1935.

• Encampment at the fort, 10 a.m.

• High tea, 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. Cost: $20, reservations required.

• Visit and book-signing with Robert Stutzman, author of “The Ligonier Valley Rail Road,” 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday. Doors open at 1 p.m.

Penn Hills — William McKinley Citizens Center, Seventh Street and Center Avenue, will hold a lunch and bingo at 1 p.m. Sunday. Doors will open at noon. Cost: $12, $10 for seniors. Reservations: 412-828-7350.
