A Fayette County woman was charged Wednesday with homicide by vehicle in a 2012 car crash that killed one person, state police in Uniontown said.
Lindsay Skocik, 19, of South Union also was charged with a felony count of accidents involving death/injury and summary traffic violations and has an unsecured bond of $50,000, court records show. Her preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 10.
Ms. Skocik's attorney was not immediately available for comment.
On Aug. 13, 2012, Ms. Skocik was driving a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee that traveled off the right side of the road, hit an embankment and rolled over at about 1 a.m. on Route 166 near Jim King Road in German Township, state police said.
Ms. Skocik and Roxanne Wolfe, 18, of McClellandtown were thrown from the vehicle, and Wolfe was pronounced dead at the hospital. A third passenger, Steven Hawk, 18 at the time of the crash, was treated and released from Uniontown Hospital.
Police said none of the occupants was wearing a seat belt.
