An Indiana, Pa., man has been ordered to stand trial on charges in a shooting that wounded a university student following a dispute at a traffic light.
An Indiana County judge ruled Thursday that prosecutors had enough evidence to try 29-year-old Eagan Minich on charges of attempted homicide, aggravated assault and making terroristic threats.
Investigators allege that Mr. Minich became enraged in January after a woman in a sport utility vehicle in front of him got out at a red light to secure a rear hatch. They allege that he pursued the SUV to a parking lot near the Indiana University of Pennsylvania campus and punched and then shot the 20-year-old victim.
The judge also denied a request from defense attorney Robert Muir to reduce Mr. Minich’s $250,000 bail.
