The Municipal Authority of Westmoreland County expects to restore water service this afternoon to locations affected by a main break earlier this week.
Customers in the those areas, including North Versailles, should continue to conserve and boil the water until bacteriological test samples are completed and show no concerns, spokeswoman Gina Cerilli said today in a press release.
After making two separate repairs on a 30-inch water line on Route 993 in Trafford, a third was required when it fractured further down the road when crews were pressurizing the line Wednesday.
That repair was expected to be completed around 5 a.m. today, Ms. Cerilli said.
The authority began immediate repairs after the break Tuesday, and Cavittsville, Wall, North Versailles and parts of Trafford were without water.
