Municipal Authority of Westmoreland County water customers in North Versailles and on Ross Street Extension in Wall may experience a service interruption through the early morning as crews make additional repairs to a main break.

After making two separate repairs on a 30-inch water line on Route 993 in Trafford, a third was required when it fractured further down the road when crews were pressurizing the line, spokeswoman Gina Cerilli said today in a press release.

This repair is expected to be completed around 5 a.m. Thursday, she said.

The authority is flushing the system, and Ms. Cerilli said officials hope to keep the rest of Wall in service via a feed from Wilkinsburg-Penn Joint Water Authority. Customers in Wall are being asked to conserve water.

The authority began immediate repairs after the break, and Cavittsville, Wall, North Versailles and parts of Trafford were without water.

Service interruption in North Versailles and Ross Street Extension began around 10 a.m.

The authority noted that the Wilkinsburg water contains fluoride.
