A woman was injured when she was run over by an SUV driven by a burglary suspect today in Plum, police said.

The woman, whose name was not released, returned to her home on Grove Crest Drive shortly before 11:45 a.m. to find a white GMC Acadia SUV parked in the driveway with the hatchback open, police said in a press release.

She said she saw a man she didn't know come out her front door, get into the SUV and drive around her vehicle. The woman, who was standing near her vehicle, was struck and run over by the SUV as the suspect tried to get away, police said.

The SUV was stolen from another residence in the borough on Feb. 10, police said.

The woman suffered non-life-threatening injuries to her legs and was taken to a hospital for treatment.

The suspect made off with jewelry and an undetermined amount of money, police said. He has not been identified.

Police ask anyone with information to call 412-793-7400.
