A Turtle Creek doctor pleaded guilty to illegally prescribing pain killers this morning.

John C. Menotiades, 78, provided prescriptions for oxycodone and an antibiotic for a woman, but wrote them out in the name of her mother, according to a complaint filed by the Pennsylvania attorney general's office. Claims for the prescriptions were then submitted through her insurance company.

Dr. Menotiades pleaded guilty to conspiracy and committing prohibited acts.

Allegheny County Common Pleas Judge Anthony M. Mariani will sentence him April 1.
