An Irwin man died early Sunday in Hempfield in a crash that Pennsylvania State Police said today may have involved alcohol.
Trooper Stephen Limani of the Greensburg barracks said early reports indicate alcohol may have been used before the wreck that killed the car's passenger, Joshua Jordan, 25.
The driver, who state police identified as Joshua Moser, 24, of Arona, was driving on Route 136 shortly before 1:15 a.m., when the car didn't make a slight right curve in the road and crossed the center line, according to a report from the Westmoreland County coroner.
The car went off the road and up an embankment, near the intersection with Beeno Road.
Mr. Jordan was ejected from the car and pronounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing a seatbelt, the coroner's office said.
Dr. Cyril H. Wecht and Pathology Associates performed an autopsy and said he died from injuries sustained in the crash, ruled an accident. Toxicology results won't be available for several weeks.
Mr. Moser's condition was not available, but Trooper Limani said he was not seriously injured.mobilehome - breaking - neigh_east
