Police seized 36 illegal poker machines from three North Versailles businesses after a Thursday night raid and plan to charge six people with gambling violations.
Allegheny County police Superintendent Charles Moffatt said the raid followed a four-month undercover investigation by his agency, state troopers and North Versailles officers.
Police executed search warrants at the Great Valley Diner, Donna's Safari Room and Flo's, also known as Chrissy's.
A fourth warrant was served at Chrissy's Newsstand for documents only.
In addition to the poker machines, officers seized $8,095 in cash, $1,740 in personal checks made out to cash and records of payouts and income from the operation.
Superintendent Moffatt said that during the investigation, members of the gambling ring paid off an undercover county detective at all three locations for accumulating a certain number of credits on the gambling machines.
