A woman was taken to UPMC Presbyterian after a vehicle crash this afternoon in Oakland.

City public safety spokeswoman Sonya Toler said the woman lost control of the vehicle in the area of South Craig Street and Winthrop Street and then hit a parked car, a pole and a tree at about 2:50 p.m.

The vehicle flipped over, but the woman was able to climb out through the sunroof. Ms. Toler described her condition as stable.

City and Carnegie Mellon University police have closed South Craig Street between Fifth and Forbes avenues while crews clear the road. Ms. Toler said some wires also were down in the area.

While at the crash scene, first responders discovered a 6-inch sinkhole near a sewer drain at that intersection. Ms. Toler said it's not thought to be related to the crash.
