Crafton man dies after struck by train under West End Bridge

A Crafton man struck by a train Sunday evening under the West End Bridge has died, according to the Allegheny County medical examiner's office.

The victim was identified as  Jessie Numer, 18, according to the Allegheny County medical examiner’s office.

The train hit Mr. Numer near the intersection of West Carson and South Main streets. City police, firefighters and paramedics were called shortly after 5 p.m.

A friend drove Mr. Numer to Allegheny General Hospital, where he had been listed in critical condition.

The city's homicide unit was investigating. An autopsy is scheduled for today.
