City school district sends provisional furlough notices to 20 teachers

Pittsburgh Public Schools has sent out provisional furlough notices to 20 teachers and 19 paraprofessionals.

School district spokeswoman Ebony Pugh today confirmed the number but said it is likely to be lower by the time final notices, which are due on Aug. 1, are sent.

The board is expected to vote at its legislative meeting Aug. 27.
