Repairs to leave residents in section of Garfield without water overnight Thursday

Residents and businesses along a section of Penn Avenue in Garfield will have no water service from 7 p.m. Thursday until 7 a.m. Friday because of repairs to a water main.

The Pittsburgh Water and Sewer Authority this morning announced that crews will be working overnight on a 20-inch water main on Penn Avenue at Millvale Avenue. Customers affected will be notified via robo call.

PWSA officials coordinated with Children’s Hospital to minimize the disruption to their operations.

Customers located on Penn Avenue between South Atlantic Avenue and Mathilda Street will have no water. Customers at the following locations will have low water pressure:

Penn Avenue (Mathilda Street to 34th Street/Doughboy Square)

The area surrounded by 44th Street, Penn Avenue, 40th Street and Davison Street including:

Davison Street (40th Street to 44th Street)

44th Street (Davison Street to Penn Avenue)

42nd Street (Davison Street to Penn Avenue)

Main Street (Davison Street to Penn Avenue)

First Street (Davison Street to Penn Avenue)

All of Percy Way

All of Arsenal Way

All of Bessemer Way

All of Hugo Way

All of Bruce Street

All of Dunkeld Way

Sherrod Street (42nd Street to 44th Street)

Garwood Way (42ns Street to 44th Street)

All of Geneva Way

All of Remust Way

All of Rosecrans Way

All of Keller Way

All of Calvin Street

All of Garden Way

All of Sibert Street

All of Almond Way

All of Bowery Way
