Six people -- all of them adults -- are being hospitalized after a two-vehicle collision at the East Carson Street intersection with the end of the West End Bridge.
Police said that just after noon a westbound Chevy Impala, driven by a woman, struck a Ford F-150 pickup truck containing five people in the intersection at the end of the bridge.
Witnesses said the car had a right-turn arrow, but the driver drove straight into the intersection, colliding with the truck. Police, however, said witnesses‘ accounts were conflicting.
The driver of the car was taken to Allegheny General Hospital, where she was reported to be in critical condition. The five people in the truck were taken to UPMC Mercy Hospital, where they were in serious condition.
