Pittsburgh police have made an arrest in the death of a 75-year-old Brookline man, Alan Krupitzer, who was found Saturday morning stabbed multiple times.

The victim's roommate, Christopher Richardson, 44, was arrested later Saturday and charged with homicide and robbery.

The victim was found by city officers who forced their way into the man's residence in the 2300 block of Pioneer Avenue.

According to the criminal complaint, Mr. Richardson called 911 from a nearby gas station. Mr. Richardson told police he was living in the basement of the home and asked Mr. Krupitzer if he could borrow money from him. When Mr. Krupitzer told him he didn't have any, Mr. Richardson began to check the victim's pockets, the complaint stated.

Mr. Krupitzer then pushed Mr. Richardson and Mr. Richardson grabbed a knife and stabbed the victim, according to the criminal complaint. After stabbing Mr. Krupitzer, he went through the victim's pockets again but didn't find any money, the complaint said.
