The University of Pittsburgh is assembling a search committee to select a new director of libraries and will employ the firm Isaacson, Miller to assist with the process.

The current director, Rush Miller, 67, will retire in December after 20 years in the post.

The position entails overseeing Pitt’‍s 15 libraries and collection of almost 7 million books.

Details regarding the composition of the committee and the timeline for the search are not yet available, Pitt spokeswoman Cara Masset said in an email.

The search process will incorporate community input, as is typical in the selection of senior administrators, Ms. Masset said.
